Mobility Reimagined

MagTrack is an eye-wear that allows you to drive your power wheelchair hands-free by sensing head tilt, facial muscle movements, and tongue positions.

MagTrack adapts to your range of motion, so even the smallest of movements can be sensed and mapped to a control.

Proportional Control

Head tilt functions as a proportional controller that mimics a joystick. Use your head to drive and steer the wheelchair.

Adaptable Tracers

MagTrack allows you to calibrate each tracer to your specific range of motion and select only the tracers you need.

Latched Control Option

Turning on latched control keeps the wheelchair in motion while you steer or turn your head to observe your surroundings.

Safe To Use

MagTrack has multiple methods to stop the wheelchair, including setting a facial switch and using a dedicated head-switch to stop.

Alternative Control

Control more than just your power wheelchair. MagTrack functions as a wireless, Bluetooth switch for your smartphone. By changing modes on the MagConnect interface, you can seamlessly switch from driving to taking a phone call, sending a text message, or even interacting with your smart home environment.

MagTrack is compatible with both iOS and Android and supports up to 7 different Bluetooth switch commands that can be customized on your smartphone.

How MagTrack Works

MagTrack uses patented motion capture technology developed at Georgia Tech to track the motion of the head, facial muscles such as the cheek, eyebrow, and chin, and the tongue, via inertial tracers. The tracers are adhered with temporary adhesive to the facial muscles and tongue, while the glasses have an in-built inertial tracer to measure head tilt.

Universally Compatible

MagTrack uses a universal 9-pin connector that is compatible with most wheelchairs, including Permobil, Quantum, and Invacare.

Wireless

Use MagTrack wirelessly while controlling your wheelchair and connected devices – especially useful when positioned away from your wheelchair.

Customizable

Each tracer can be placed in any position around the head and face that has sufficient muscle movement, allowing the user to choose the number and placement of each tracer.

How MagTrack Can Help

MagTrack is ideal for those living with some form of paralysis and requiring a power wheelchair, resulting from Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), among others. Our technology offers a hands-free method of control over your power wheelchair and smart electronic devices so you can do more with the mobility that is available to you.

MagTrack is actively being developed and is looking for feedback. If you are interested in testing MagTrack, or are a physical therapist, seating specialist, or assistive technology professional and would like to learn more, please contact us.
